How to Use SK-7830 for Car Maintenance
Dark Current Measurement   (4000mA DC range)
Dark Current :

mA-level low current that is used after turning off the engine by such as car security system or auto
settings back-up.  Too much dark current causes battery runs out.

How to measure :

1.

Turn off the engine, and cool it down for

about 15 minutes. All electric components
(headlights or lamps must be turned off.
2.

Turn on SK-7830 putting the clamp head

close to a battery cable to be measured.
LCD displays "0mA" automatically by
Power-on Initialize function.
3. Clamp a minus battery cable.
4. Read the measurement value.

What is good for SK-7830?
Quick and Easy
SK-7830 can measure dark current just clamping-on a battery cable. Measurement steps are
much easier than the DMM.
No need to worry about deleting the car electronics memory
Measuring dark current by DMM tends to delete the car electronics memory because it must
loosen the battery terminal. You can solve this problem by using SK-7830.
Power-on Initialize Function
LCD display is automatically adjusted into zero when turning on the SK-7830.
Noise cut clamp core
Shielded clamp core blocks the influences of external noise or external magnetic field.
Easy to Read
Stable LCD reading even in the low current measurement.
Alternator Charging Current Measurement (40A/200A DC range)
Alternator Charging Current Measurement :

Car alternator is the engine generator that outputs DC electricity.  Measuring its charging current is effective to find the trouble that might cause battery runs out or battery damages.

1. Stop car engine.

2. Turn on SK-7830, then clamp it to B-terminal
cable from car alternator.
3. Start the engine.
4. Check the measurement value on LCD.
OK : 20A-40A is displayed and slowly comes down.
NG : 20A-40A or higher remains displayed
